Park water has been shut off. Please bring
water with you if your dog enjoys a drink
while he/she is at the park.

Repairs will be made to the fountain to fix
the pressure problem encountered this
summer.

No Food
of any kind is allowed--this includes
dog treats. Any kind of food can trigger unruly
behavior by any dog. Please refrain from
bringing treats.  Reward your dog when you get
home from the park.

Bark Park has established many rules to help
ensure safety and enjoyment at the park for all
members.  One of our most important rules--
you MUST watch your dog at all times while
you're at the park--no exceptions.
 Incidents
can occur in a split second. If you are watching
your dog, you can help avoid an incident by
moving to a different part of the park, or leaving if
your dog is having a bad day.

Other Rules (but not all of them) Include:

No Smoking in the park. If you must smoke, go to
the common area or outside the park entirely.

Please pick up after your pet. Let's keep our
park clean.

Courtesy, Courtesy, Courtesy - No foul language
or verbal abuse will be tolerated. Please respect
your fellow members while you are at the park.

No Prong Collars Allowed. If your dog wears a
prong collar, it must be removed before entering
the run area for the safety of other dogs.

Only 2 dogs per handler--no exceptions, this
includes small dog owners.  Anyone bringing
more than 2 dogs will be subject to having their
membership revoked.

No dogs under six months of age--this is for their
safety. Young dogs are easy targets for alpha
dogs. Don't allow your puppy to be exposed to
unruly dog behavior at a young age. Puppies
need to learn basic commands and learn who
the leader is (you)  before becoming members of
a park full of adult dogs.

The Frankfort Park District and the Bark Park
Committee follow up on all complaints reported.

If you encounter an incident, have a problem,
have a suggestion, please call the Frankfort Park
District at 815-469-9400.

All rules are posted on our Petiquette page and
included with your registration packet for you to
review at your convenience.

This is a great park.  Please abide by all
rules, be good mentors to new members,
watch your dog at all times, send us
suggestions anytime, and most of all, enjoy
your time at the park with your
canine companion.

This park was built for them.

Bark Park Presents At
2009 IAPD/IPRA
Conference

Each year, the Illinois Association of
Park Districts holds a large state-wide
convention where staff from park
districts attend a vendor fair, award
ceremonies, educational sessions and
more. This year Bark Park was one of
the many educational sessions
offered, featuring information and best
practices on how to build an
award-winning dog park.  The session
was a big hit among attendees.

To view the slides that were presented,
go to:

www.slideshare.net or

Once you're there, type in "Frankfort
Bark Park" in the search box and the
presentation should show up.
